Fényterjedésig is a Hungarian term that translates to "propagation of light" or "light propagation" in English. It refers to the manner in which light travels through space or a medium. Understanding light propagation is fundamental to many fields, including optics, physics, and engineering.

Light propagates in straight lines in a homogeneous medium, a principle known as the rectilinear propagation of light. This is why shadows are formed and why lenses and mirrors can be used to manipulate light beams. When light encounters different media, such as moving from air to water or glass, its speed changes, and it can bend. This bending of light is called refraction.
