Emërtuese
Emërtuese is a term originating from the Albanian language. It directly translates to "nominative" in grammatical contexts. In Albanian grammar, the emërtuese is one of the five cases that nouns and pronouns can take. It functions similarly to the nominative case in many other Indo-European languages. The emërtuese form is typically the basic or dictionary form of a word. It is used for the subject of a sentence, as well as for the predicate nominative. For example, in the sentence "Djalë është i gjatë" (The boy is tall), "djalë" is in the emërtuese case because it is the subject of the sentence. When a noun or pronoun is the subject performing an action or being described, it will be in the emërtuese. Other cases in Albanian include the gjenitive (pronëse), dative (dhënëse), accusative (kundrinore), and ablative (rrjedhëse), each serving distinct grammatical functions related to possession, indirect objects, direct objects, and origin or separation, respectively. Understanding the emërtuese is fundamental to constructing grammatically correct Albanian sentences.
