Elektronnyalábokat, meaning "electron beams" in Hungarian, refers to a focused stream of electrons. These beams are generated by electron guns, which typically use thermionic emission or field emission to produce electrons. The electrons are then accelerated and shaped by electric and magnetic fields.

The primary application of electron beams is in vacuum tubes, such as cathode ray tubes (CRTs) historically used in televisions and computer monitors. In CRTs, the electron beam scans across a phosphor-coated screen, causing it to glow and form an image. Electron beams are also crucial in electron microscopy, where their short wavelength allows for much higher resolution imaging than traditional light microscopes. Scanning electron microscopes (SEMs) and transmission electron microscopes (TEMs) utilize electron beams to examine the surface topography and internal structure of materials, respectively.

Beyond imaging, electron beams find use in industrial processes like electron beam welding, which provides deep penetration and precise welds, and electron beam lithography, a technique for creating very small features on semiconductor wafers. The precise control and energy of electron beams make them versatile tools in scientific research, manufacturing, and historical display technologies.
