Dalane

Dalan is a municipality in the county of Rogaland, Norway. It has a population of approximately 5,688 people as of 2020. The municipality covers an area of 317 square miles.

Dalan was created on January 1, 1965, through the merger of the municipalities of Sakrisøy and Vatne. The municipality of Dalan is bordered by the municipalities of Sokndal to the east, Hå to the southeast, and Klepp to the southwest. To the north, it is bordered by the Ølvikfjord and the municipalities of Hjelmeland and Forsand. The western border of the municipality is the sea, where the Dalan River meets the sea.

The economy of the municipality is largely based on aquaculture and agriculture. The fertile soil in the area makes it suitable for farming. The majority of the inhabitants make their living from farming, while some are employed in the aquaculture industry. Many residents have a secondary source of income from the tourism industry.
