CysLT3

CysLT3, also known as cysteinyl leukotriene receptor 3, is a G protein-coupled receptor that plays a role in the immune system and inflammation. It is part of the cysteinyl leukotriene receptor family, which includes CysLT1 and CysLT2 receptors. These receptors bind to cysteinyl leukotrienes, a group of lipid mediators derived from arachidonic acid.

The primary ligands for CysLT3 are cysteinyl leukotrienes, particularly leukotriene C4 (LTC4), LTD4, and LTE4. These molecules are produced by various immune cells, including mast cells, eosinophils, and macrophages, in response to inflammatory stimuli. Upon binding to CysLT3, a signaling cascade is initiated, leading to a variety of cellular responses.

CysLT3 is expressed in a range of tissues and cell types, including airway smooth muscle cells, eosinophils, and certain immune cells. Its activation has been implicated in diverse physiological and pathological processes. These include modulation of immune cell trafficking, regulation of inflammatory mediator release, and contribution to vascular permeability.
