Csírázáshoz refers to the process of germination, which is the biological process by which a plant starts to grow from a seed. This process is initiated by favorable environmental conditions, primarily moisture, temperature, and oxygen. When a seed is exposed to adequate moisture, it absorbs water, causing the seed coat to soften and swell. This hydration activates enzymes within the seed that begin to break down stored food reserves, providing energy for growth.

Temperature plays a crucial role in germination, as different plant species have specific optimal temperature ranges for this process. Some seeds require warmth, while others may need a period of cold stratification before they can germinate. Oxygen is also essential for respiration, which releases the energy needed for the embryo to develop. Seeds buried too deeply in compact soil may not receive sufficient oxygen.

During germination, the radicle, which is the embryonic root, is typically the first part of the seedling to emerge from the seed. It grows downwards into the soil, anchoring the plant and beginning to absorb water and nutrients. Following the radicle, the plumule, which develops into the shoot, emerges and grows upwards towards the light. The cotyledons, or seed leaves, may emerge above ground and perform photosynthesis for a short period, or they may remain below ground, supplying nutrients from the seed's endosperm. The entire process is a remarkable transformation from a dormant seed to a developing seedling.
