Commonlexemes
Common lexemes, also known as function words, are words that have little lexical meaning but are essential for sentence structure and grammar. They include articles (such as "a," "an," "the"), prepositions (like "in," "on," "at"), conjunctions (such as "and," "but," "or"), and auxiliary verbs (e.g., "be," "have," "do"). These words are highly frequent in any language and are often referred to as "closed class words" because new members are rarely added to the class. Common lexemes serve crucial roles in communication, enabling speakers to express relationships between words, indicate tense, and form complex sentences. Despite their simplicity, they are indispensable for coherent and meaningful communication.
