Autotrofisten

Autotrofisten is a term used to describe organisms that can produce their own food, typically through photosynthesis or chemosynthesis. These organisms are the foundation of most ecosystems, as they convert inorganic matter into organic compounds that can be consumed by other life forms. Photosynthetic autotrophs, such as plants, algae, and cyanobacteria, utilize sunlight as their energy source to convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose and oxygen. Chemosynthetic autotrophs, found in environments devoid of sunlight like deep-sea hydrothermal vents, use chemical reactions involving inorganic compounds to generate energy and synthesize organic matter.
