Asetonitriiliä
Acetonitrile, also known as asetonitriiliä in Finnish, is an organic compound with the formula CH₃CN. It is a colorless liquid with a faint ether-like odor. Acetonitrile is a polar aprotic solvent, widely used in chemical synthesis, pharmaceuticals, and analytical chemistry (e.g., high-performance liquid chromatography). It has a boiling point of 81.6 °C and a melting point of -48 °C, and is miscible with water and many organic solvents. The compound is toxic; exposure through inhalation, skin contact, or ingestion can cause health risks, so proper safety measures are required when handling it.
