Adenindiszfoszforláttal is a Hungarian term referring to Adenosine diphosphate (ADP). ADP is a nucleotide composed of adenine, a ribose sugar, and two phosphate groups. It is a crucial molecule in cellular metabolism and energy transfer.

ADP plays a central role in the process of cellular respiration. During respiration, energy released from the breakdown of food molecules is used to convert adenosine monophosphate (AMP) into ADP, and further to adenosine triphosphate (ATP). ATP is the primary energy currency of the cell, providing the energy needed for most cellular activities. When a cell requires energy, ATP is hydrolyzed, breaking off one phosphate group to form ADP and releasing energy.

ADP is also involved in blood clotting. When a blood vessel is injured, platelets aggregate at the site of injury. ADP is released by activated platelets and acts as a potent signaling molecule, attracting more platelets to the site and promoting their aggregation, which is essential for forming a blood clot and stopping bleeding.
