32305
32305 is a minor planet in the asteroid belt, located between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. It was discovered on February 26, 1998, by the Lincoln Near-Earth Asteroid Research (LINEAR) project, a collaborative effort between the United States Air Force, NASA, and MIT. The asteroid is approximately 2 kilometers in diameter and has an orbital period of about 3.5 years. Its orbit is inclined at an angle of 1.7 degrees to the ecliptic, and it has an eccentricity of 0.13. The asteroid's spectral type is S, indicating a stony composition. 32305 is named after the American astronomer and educator, Dr. Edward C. Stone, who has made significant contributions to the field of planetary science. The naming citation was published by the Minor Planet Center on March 26, 2002 (M.P.C. 44744).
