Trzydzieci is a Polish term that literally means “three children.” In standard Polish, the expression is written as two separate words: trzy dzieci. The noun dzieci is the genitive plural form of dziecko, and it is used after numerals such as trzy.

Usage and variants. The usual way to count three children is trzy dzieci, but Polish also employs a collective numeral troje, which can be used with certain nouns that refer to people, including dzieci.
