Rechtvaardigs is a coined term used in speculative ethics and some Dutch-language fiction to denote a group or ideal embodying fairness. It is not a standard term in mainstream philosophy, but it appears in discussions about how to operationalize justice in social institutions or in hypothetical narratives.

The term derives from the Dutch rechtvaardig, meaning fair or just, and the plural-like form -s is used in a stylized way to name a collective, class, or movement rather than a simple adjective.

The rechtvaardigs are imagined as agents or a movement defined by strict adherence to impartial rules, transparent decision procedures, and accountability. They prioritize equality of opportunity, nondiscrimination, and consistency in applying norms, often envisioning both human deliberation and formal procedures for dispute resolution. In some portrayals they resemble a codified or algorithmic justice system.

In philosophy and fiction, the term is used to explore how fairness can be achieved without sacrificing other values. In literature or world-building, rechtvaardigs may form a governing order or a philosophical faction advocating for rule-based governance. In debates about AI and algorithmic justice, the idea functions as a foil or target for discussions about the feasibility and limits of impartial decision-making.
