Pöördvõrdete refers to an inverse proportion in mathematics. When two quantities are inversely proportional, their product remains constant. This means that as one quantity increases, the other quantity decreases at a rate such that their product stays the same. For example, if you have a fixed amount of work to be done, the time it takes to complete the work is inversely proportional to the number of workers assigned to it. If you double the number of workers, the time required to finish the work will be halved. Similarly, if you halve the number of workers, the time will double, assuming all workers work at the same pace.
