Odwzorowuje is a form of the Polish verb odwzorować, meaning to reproduce, mirror, reflect, or copy according to a model. In everyday language it can describe imitation or faithful reproduction of a pattern, drawing, or image. In mathematical and scientific contexts, odwzorowywanie denotes a mapping or transformation that assigns to each element of a domain a corresponding element of a codomain.

In mathematical usage, a function or relation that assigns to every element of one set a specific element of another set is said to odwzorowywać that set onto the other. For example, "Funkcja odwzorowuje każdy punkt dziedziny na punkt przeciwdziedziny" expresses that the function maps points from the domain to points in the codomain.
