ldiversiteit is a term that appears in some Dutch-language discussions as a nonstandard variant of diversiteit, the concept of diversity. Because the form is not widely established in authoritative sources, its meaning generally aligns with the broader idea of variation across categories within a system, though its exact scope can vary by context or author.

In concept, ldiversiteit encompasses multiplicity and heterogeneity across dimensions such as biological species, cultures, languages, skills, and ideas. In ecology, diversity is often described through richness (the number of categories) and evenness (the distribution among categories). In the social and organizational sciences, it includes demographic diversity (age, gender, ethnicity), cognitive diversity (different knowledge and perspectives), and experiential diversity (backgrounds and experiences).

Measurement approaches include diversity indices such as the Shannon index or Simpson index, as well as simpler proxy measures like the share of minority groups or the number of distinct categories in a dataset. Critics warn that metrics can oversimplify complex realities and that diversity alone does not ensure equity or inclusion; meaningful ldiversiteit also requires fair representation, constructive interaction, and equal opportunities.

Applications appear across policy, workplace design, education, urban planning, and conservation, where diverse conditions can influence resilience, innovation, and social cohesion. Debates commonly address how to balance diversity with cohesion, manage conflicts, and avoid tokenism while pursuing inclusive participation and outcomes.
