Kissanpentu, literally "kitten" in Finnish, refers to a young domestic cat. In general usage, a kissanpentu is a kitten from birth until the animal reaches adulthood, typically up to about one year of age. Kittens undergo rapid growth and development and rely on warmth and nutrition from their mother or caregivers during the early weeks.
