kaavayksikköjen
Kaavayksikköjen is a Finnish term that translates to "formula units" in English. It is a concept used primarily in chemistry to describe the smallest representative particle of an ionic compound. Unlike molecular compounds, which exist as discrete molecules, ionic compounds are formed by a continuous, repeating lattice of positively and negatively charged ions. A formula unit represents the simplest whole-number ratio of ions in this lattice.
For example, sodium chloride (NaCl) is an ionic compound. It does not exist as individual NaCl molecules.
