gratifikasi

Gratifikasi is a term used in Indonesia to refer to gifts or gratuities given to or received by a state organizer (penyelenggara negara) in connection with their official duties. It is defined as any gift, service, or other benefit accepted by a public official as thanks or recognition for an action performed or to be performed in relation to the official’s office. In Indonesia’s anti-corruption framework, gratifikasi is treated differently from bribery (suap). Some gratifikasi may be permissible if properly disclosed and handled according to rules, but acceptance that is not disclosed or that aims to influence official decisions can constitute illicit gratification or bribery and carry sanctions.

The regulatory regime is anchored primarily in the Corruption Eradication Law (UU Tipikor) and related regulations
