domenia
Domenia is a term that has been used in various contexts, primarily in the fields of biology and ecology. It refers to the domain of life, specifically the domain of eukaryotic organisms. The concept of domains was introduced by Carl Woese in 1990 as part of a new system of biological classification. This system, known as the three-domain system, categorizes all known life forms into three domains: Bacteria, Archaea, and Eukarya. Eukarya, which includes Domenia, encompasses all organisms whose cells have a true nucleus and other membrane-bound organelles, such as animals, plants, fungi, and protists. This classification system has been instrumental in understanding the evolutionary relationships between different groups of organisms.
