Conformiteitsbewijs, in Dutch often used interchangeably with the Declaration of Conformity, is a document that states a product complies with the essential requirements of applicable European Union harmonization directives and national implementations. In practice, for many products that bear the CE marking, the manufacturer or its authorised representative issues a Declaration of Conformity (DoC) that accompanies the product. The DoC identifies the product, the directives and harmonized standards applied, the responsible legal entity, the place and date of issue, and the signature of a duly authorised person.

The DoC is typically supported by a technical file containing design drawings, risk assessments, test reports, and other documentation demonstrating conformity. In some sectors, conformity assessment is carried out by a Notified Body, leading to a product-specific or type-approval certificate of conformity. In other cases, the manufacturer performs a self-declaration, provided the product meets the relevant requirements.

The certificate or declaration is a legal attestation used to market products in the European Economic Area and is closely tied to the CE marking. It does not itself guarantee the product is flawless; it attests conformity to specified requirements at the time of issue and must be kept up to date with changes in directives or standards.
