Chatominaisuuksia refers to the Chinese classification system for meteorites, specifically those that fall in China. This system is based on the perceived composition and rarity of the meteorite.

Chiyu, or stone falls, are classified as those meteorites that contain iron or stony iron. Chihai, or stony falls, are further divided into chiyus if they contain substantial amounts of nickel, or chihailun and chihaitu, which are considered rare types.

Chihai is the primary classification for carbonaceous chondrites, which are composed of carbonates and aqueous alteration products. These types are further divided into chihailun and chihaitu. The former is more common and exhibits an undeveloped crystal structure in the presence of some troilite crystals. The latter has a less common composition and is characterized by an absence of troilite and the development of more hydroxides.

Chihai yang or "black stone" is another classification of carbonaceous chondrites. This meteorite shows extremely fine particle size and an altered structure rich in carbonates.
