Zorgplichten

Zorgplichten, or duties of care, are legal and professional obligations to ensure the safety, well‑being and proper treatment of others. In healthcare, zorgplicht applies to physicians, nurses and other professionals. It encompasses delivering care according to accepted medical standards, obtaining informed consent, safeguarding patient privacy, monitoring treatment outcomes, and providing timely referral or escalation when needed.
