Studienordnung

Studienordnung, in German higher education, is a formal regulatory document for a study program at a university or Fachhochschule. It defines the program's structure, including required modules, elective options, module sequencing, workload, and the allocation of credits (ECTS). It sets the rules for progressing through the program and for final degree requirements. Together with the Prüfungsordnung (examination regulations), the Studienordnung establishes what students must study and what assessments are needed to obtain the degree. The document typically covers admission prerequisites, standard duration of study, possibilities for part-time study or leave of absence, and rules for changing programs or transferring credits.

Content frequently includes learning objectives, a module catalog with compulsory and elective modules, credit distribution, prerequisites
