Selkäydinkanavan

Selkäydinkanava, also known as the spinal canal, is a bony tunnel that runs along the back of the vertebral column. It is formed by the successive vertebral arches of the vertebrae. The primary function of the selkäydinkanava is to protect the spinal cord, which is a crucial part of the central nervous system. The spinal cord extends from the base of the brain down to the lumbar region of the spine.
