Punkter

Punkter is the plural of punkt in several Scandinavian languages, generally meaning points or dots. It refers to a precise position, location, or mark used to locate something in space, on a diagram, or on a surface. In mathematics and geometry, a point is a fundamental primitive with no size or shape; it specifies a position. In a two-dimensional plane a point has coordinates (x, y), and in three dimensions (x, y, z). A collection of points can define lines, curves, and polygons: a line is typically defined by two distinct points; a plane by three non-collinear points; a polygon by an ordered sequence of points.

In other fields, points are used as data elements. A data point denotes a single observation in statistics or data analysis. In computer graphics and geographic information systems, points mark locations, serve as vertices in meshes, or form point clouds that represent shapes and terrains.

In everyday language, punkter can also mean marks or dots visible on a surface, and in lists they may appear as bullet points or enumerated markers.
