Lentini

Lentini is a comune (municipality) in eastern Sicily, Italy. It is part of the Province of Syracuse. The town sits on a fertile plain between the Ionian Sea coast and the Simeto River, and serves as an agricultural hub for the area.

The site is identified with the ancient Greek city of Leontini (Leontinoi), noted in classical sources. In the medieval and early modern periods, Lentini developed as a rural settlement and later expanded with the growth of agriculture and local crafts.
