Kaapelimodeemin

Kaapelimodeemi is a client for the Finnish embryonic loss registry, HILBI. The registry is maintained by the Social Insurance Institution of Finland, known as Kela. Kaapelimodeemi allows users to confidentially report information on pregnancies that have ended in miscarriage, abortion, or stillbirth.

The system, whose name is Finnish for "Capelin nesting site," was introduced in the early 2000s. It was designed to collect data on early pregnancy loss. Individuals can access the system using their Kela credentials. This allows them to record details on the pregnancy loss, such as gestational age and cause.

The information entered into Kaapelimodeemi is anonymous, and reporting is voluntary. This helps in creating a comprehensive database on early pregnancy loss.
