Haribo

Haribo is a German confectionery company known for gummy candies. Founded in 1920 in Bonn by confectioner Hans Riegel, Sr., the company established the modern gummy-bear market. The name Haribo is a contraction of Hans Riegel Bonn.

The first gummy candy produced by Haribo was Gummibärchen, introduced in 1922. After World War II, the firm expanded its gummy line and adopted the Haribo brand. Haribo Goldbears, the company’s flagship gummy bears, were launched in 1966.

Today Haribo's product range includes numerous gummy candies and other sweets, such as Starmix, Happy Cola, and various sour and fruit flavors. The company markets its products worldwide and exports to many countries.

Haribo remains privately owned by the Riegel family and is organized as Haribo GmbH & Co. KG. Its headquarters are in Bonn, Germany, with production facilities in several countries and a global distribution network. It is one of the leading producers of gummy candies.
