Grimer

Grimer is a Poison-type Pokémon introduced in the first generation. It is known as the Sludge Pokémon and is described as a viscous, amorphous blob formed from poisonous sludge tied to dirty environments. Its body is typically a grayish-purple, semi-solid mass with a blob-like, irregular shape.

Grimer commonly inhabits polluted areas such as sewers, landfills, and dumps. It feeds by absorbing pollutants from its surroundings, and its slime is capable of dissolving certain materials on contact.

Grimer evolves into Muk starting at level 38. In addition to the standard form, a regional variant known as Alolan Grimer exists in the Alola region. Alolan Grimer is Poison/Dark and has a darker, shinier appearance.

Grimer's standard ability is Stench, with Corrosion available as a hidden ability. Corrosion allows its Poison-type moves to poison Steel-type targets, reflecting its Pollution-themed biology.

In the broader Pokémon media, Grimer is often depicted as a nuisance associated with pollution, but it can function as a relatively sturdy attacker in battle due to its Poison typing and access to a range of sludge-based moves.

The name Grimer is derived from grime, reflecting its dirty origin. Since its debut, Grimer has appeared in numerous games and media, becoming one of the more recognizable sludge-themed Pokémon from the original series.
