Bentayga

The Bentayga is a full-size luxury SUV produced by British automaker Bentley Motors. Launched in 2015, it marked Bentley's first foray into the SUV segment and became the brand's best-selling model. The name Bentayga derives from the Bentayga mountain on Gran Canaria, reflecting Bentley’s tradition of using geographical names for its models.

The Bentayga is built on a Volkswagen Group platform shared with other large premium SUVs and features an aluminum-intensive body and an all-wheel-drive system with an adaptive air-suspension that provides a balanced blend of comfort and driving dynamics. The vehicle offers a range of powertrains. The initial flagship used a 6.0-liter W12 gasoline engine delivering around 600 horsepower and substantial torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. A twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 joined the lineup, delivering approximately 540-550 horsepower. A plug-in hybrid version, combining an internal combustion engine with an electric motor, was added later, producing around 450-500 horsepower and enabling some driving in electric-only mode. A high-performance Bentayga Speed variant has been offered, increasing power and top speed.

Inside, the Bentayga emphasizes luxury materials, a driver-focused cabin, and the latest infotainment and driver-assistance technologies. It features Bentley’s advanced adaptive suspension, all-wheel drive, and a suite of driver-assistance systems.

The Bentayga competes with other full-size luxury SUVs such as the Range Rover, Mercedes-Benz GLS, and Audi Q7/Q8. It remains a cornerstone model for Bentley, reflecting the brand’s emphasis on luxury, power, and craftsmanship.
