Amerikanische
Amerikanische is the feminine singular nominative and accusative form of the German adjective amerikanisch, meaning “American.” It is used to describe feminine nouns or, in combination with a definite article, to form phrases such as die amerikanische Küche (the American cuisine) or die amerikanische Kultur (the American culture). The form also appears in the plural with no article in strong endings, as in amerikanische Städte (American cities). Like other German adjectives, its ending changes with the gender, number, and case of the noun it modifies.
